At along, we make one thing: front-loader family cargo bikes. Kids in front, where you can see them.

The ride is the time together. Up front, your kids feel the wind you feel and see the road you see. They hear the birds, smell the morning air, wave at the neighbours. Every sense is engaged - they're not being carried in the back, they're truly sharing the same ride as you. You point, they ask, you chat the whole way to school. And with the weight low between the wheels, the bike stays calm and stable with little ones on board.

So this page compares family front loaders only. No tuktuks, no delivery trikes, nothing built for boxes instead of children. No longtails either - kids sit behind you, a different format. That includes our own longtail, The Long: we built it as a utility bike for carrying heavy loads, and until it's fully equipped with child safety gear, it stays out of any family comparison. Just bikes made to carry kids: ours, what else you can buy in the UAE, and the European best.

Rough math: the EU price plus battery freight, 5% duty and 5% VAT. It adds up fast.

All three are great bikes - the Load may be the best cargo bike in the world. We built ours on the same principles: torque-sensor assist, EU battery standards, EPP where kids sit. Then we made them for the UAE - sold here, stocked here, warrantied here, at a fraction of the landed price.

What the comparison tells you

If you only remember one thing, make it the warranty. Three years on a frame against one; eighteen months on parts against six. The frame carries your kids through Dubai heat every day - the warranty is the maker's honest opinion of it.

Because we only do front loaders, we do them at three budgets: AED 6,500 to pedal, 9,000 for compact electric, 11,500 for the full family three-wheeler. Same warranty, same home setup, same service on all three.

And one detail worth knowing: the torque sensor. Every along bike has one - the same principle as the Bosch and Shimano systems on Europe's best. It reads your pedaling and helps in proportion, so nothing lurches with kids on board. Whoever you buy from, ask: what sensor, what box material, and does the motor meet the EU standard (250W, 25 km/h) that UAE rules follow?
